“Tea with Friends” Tuesday, September 15, 2026 Allegheny Country Club – Dr. Michael Hammer, Pianist
In September, the Woman’s Club will celebrate another wonderful tea at the Allegheny Country Club. It is the perfect way to inaugurate our 2026-2027 season. The atmosphere of the Allegheny Country Club is elegant — reminiscent of a grand era in our area’s history.
Dr. Michael Hammer will be our guest musician. He is a talented pianist and Director of Music at Sewickley Presbyterian Church. Toward the end of the afternoon, Dr. Hammer will play selected pieces for all of us to enjoy!
Hats are optional for the occassion!
Wednesday, October 21st, 2026, EVENING PROGRAM 5:30 pm Montour Heights Country Club – Oldies Night – Bring your husband, wife, significant other, friend, enemy, or whoever you want to dance with!
This month, we will gather at the Montour Heights Country Club for an evening event, including family, friends and guests for an Oldies Bash! Join us as we rock to the well-known D.J. Jerry Kovach spinning the discs. Heavy appetizers will be served. Janet (“CAT) Miller, one of our members, will demonstrate a few popular moves. Some may elect to try to duplicate her moves on the dance floor!
Period 50’s – 60’s dress optional, but so much fun!
Wednesday, November 18th, 2026 – Montour Heights Country Club “The National Impact of Beaver’s Fort McIntosh” – Mike Miner, Beaver Area Heritage Museum
Our membership often requests subjects related to local history. We deliver again with this program. The Beaver area is our neighbor and is filled with colonial history. Mark Miner, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Beaver Area Heritage Museum, will discuss that part played by Fort McIntosh in the American Revolution. Come learn more about our region’s place in establishing the United States of America.

Allegheny Country Club dresses up like few other venues to celebrate the Holiday Season. The holiday season is magical and where better to celebrate it than by returning to the Allegheny Country Club. Come join us for a special meal. Come and enjoy the food, the friends, and some great music.
January 2027 – There will be no meeting
Many find the challenges of winter difficult. Be safe, away from icy/snowy roads – pick up that book you have been wanting to read, binge a new, popular TV show, make your favorite comfort food. Stay tuned for our fabulous February Brunch event.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the buzzwords of our time. The science of AI has far-reaching implications. Form many of us, it is difficult to understand, much less realize the advantages and disadvantages. We have found someone to guide us through this AI maze — Dustin Shilling from the Sewickley Public Library. Dustin has clarified this difficult subject for other local audiences, and he has agreed to do the same for our membership. Come listen and learn! We promise no quizzes! Wednesday, March 10, 2027, Montour Heights Country Club “Emergencies, Disasters, and other Bothersome Events; What to Do and What Not to Do” Judy Haluka, President WCSV
Judy is uniquely capable of bringing humor to disaster and she will do so here! Judy will discuss disasters both on a large scale and a small local or even facility limited scale. We will talk about what defines a disaster, who is responsible for responding, and what to do before they get there to ensure our safety. We will talk about best practices in an emergency as well as the local, country and national Emergency Operational Plans and how each individual is impacted. Do you know what to do during a tornado? a mass shooting, a prolonged loss of utilities? Come and learn so you can feel confident of your response when it happens.
Wednesday, April 14, 2027 – Montour Heights Country Club – Passover – A Celebration & an Understanding
With Passover approaching we have asked two of our members, Esther Neft and Phyllis Wanetick to celebrate the Sedar with us and share it’s traditional meaning with us. But I (Judy) would like to ask our Jewish members who are willing to share with us, to share the special traditions that their families have around the Sedar meal. It is my understanding that the celebration of the Sedar differs from family to family and this would be a wonderful way for us to learn more about the Jewish faith as well as about our Woman’s Club sisters. This was a great success when Phyllis graciously helped us several years ago and I look forward to celebrating and learning with my sisters once again.
